Vintage WW2 US Navy 1st Pattern Blue N-1 Deck Overalls / Pants.
Solid, Functional & in Good Used Condition. Bibs show general wear, some fade & a bit of paint ~ typical of use. The Navy vet I got these from said he caught hell for wearing them during a painting detail. No holes, rips or loose seams ~ shows 1 spot w thread run. A few other issues described below. Plenty of photos for you to be the judge. ~See Below~
Blue w US NAVY stencil. Rugged & durable cotton shell w full wool lining. The lining is in great condition w no worn areas, holes, rips, moth damage or pilling. I tape rolled the lining & it is pretty clean but you may see fit to do a final fine tune cleaning.
Hook latches at sides are solid & secure, the 2 eyelets at the left have started to rip from the shell but are still holding frim ~ I dont think the eyelets passed through the wool side since there is no damage or fraying to the wool. Adjustable suspenders w metal buttons. The left button was loose ~ I removed it & tied a heavy carpet thread around the shank, point stitched it in the round right next to the button & then tied it around the shank. It is functional, solid & secure & is hardly noticeable when the buckle is in place - just a slight wrinkle to fabric. the other button is secure w no damage. Tie straps at cuffs show some damage w some missing length to ties. No wear or fraying at cuffs edges.
Marked a size Large. A Large to Medium ~ depends on intended fit & undergarments.
Measurements taken flat ~ 38 ½" around at top side buckles w room (approx at lower rib cage when worn), waist 44" around w room right below bottom side buckle slits, in-seam 29 ½", outerseam - cuff to top side 44" & top front bib to crotch 23 3/4".
