A most beautiful hand painted antique, 19th. Century, German porcelain pipe with carved horn base, with white metal cappings to the bowl and base. The lid of the pipe has at some stage has become detached and has been lost, the stem of the pipe is also missing but the bowl and worked horm base are absolutely stunning. The hand painted picture on the bowl of a maiden  is very beautiful. The bowl and the base are connected by a triple silk hand plaited cord, however, each of the thread cords, is itself hand plaited and a very intricate piece of workmanship. The ends of the silk cord are frayed and one of the white metal rings is missing from the horn base, where the pipe bowl plugs in.
