The BR-Micro is the smallest digital 4 track recorder on the market. As if that isn't impressive enough, it comes with a built in drum machine and guitar amp simulator with 13 COSM amp simulations. Each of the 4 tracks consists of 8 virtual tracks resulting in a total of 32 tracks. You can cut and paste information between the different virtual tracks and when you play back you choose which virtual track to use. Total recording time on a 1GB card is about 2 hours. The BR-Micro can also be used as an mp3 player and it contains a centre cancelling function for removing a guitar solo or vocal track from a song.
You choose from approximately 300 built-in drum patterns and build up your song from those. There's no micro management of the individual drum beats but the drum track for a song can be programmed in seconds. There's a separate drum track so the drum machine will not take up any of the other 4 tracks
The BR-Micro contains 13 amp simulations: JC-120, Clean, Crunch, Match, Vo Drv, Blues, BG Lead, MS(1), MS(2), MS (1+2), SLDN, Metal and Metal D. Some of the amp names are obvious enough but unfortunately, Boss didn't include any documentation that reveals which amps they based their models on. For each amp you can also include effects. You can always use delay but you will need to choose between compressor, chorus, flanger, phaser and tremolo/pan.
