RECORD GRADING GUIDELINES
MINT: Flawless and/or SEALED
MINT- : LP shines like new and looks unplayed.
COVERS are in perfect condition
EXCELLENT: LPs look good with only minor imperfections, sleeves may have caused minor blemishes, scuffs or blotches (from dust after cleaning) retains most (if not all) it's original luster and still plays like new!
COVERS look brand new with only minor issues. Could have only a few of these problems. Cut Corner, Notch cut, Hole punch, Promo Stamp, slight spine peeling or tear and or shows visible signs to starting ring wear
VG+: LPs show telltale signs of being handled (used but not abused). Record could or does have what looks like needle drags but plays thru most of it without distraction. Minor noise can be heard in and in between tracks but also not so distracting. You can see some wear on the record and also has multiple blemishes, scuffs and or blotches, has lost most of it's original luster, but plays fine.
COVERS have a cut corner, notch cut, Promo Stamp, spine peeling, spine tear, fading or snow spots. Ring wear is noticeable
VG : LPs play but noise is heard throughout due to wear. It's probably constant but not as loud as the music. Might have a needle drag (audible). The vinyl has more prominent blemishes, scuffs and or blotches which are most likely audible and has lost most of it's original luster.
COVERS have blotches, scuffs or prominent blemishes but are intact with seam tears
G: LP still plays but it's obvious that an upgrade to get another copy is in need. Lots of wear and noise is as loud as the music but plays fine without skips.
COVERS have blotches, scuffs or prominent blemishes with one or more torn seams and it's probably time to find a new copy.
