From an old-time collection of fine US & World  coins, Lincoln Gold & Collectibles is pleased to offer this 1883 silver dollar struck at the San Francisco mint for the Kingdom of Hawaii.  Like much of the collection,  this coin has been in bank storage for over four decades - just removed from its old paper coin envelope and now being offered for the first time. This is an attractive lightly toned coin purchased from the late Tom McAfee one of the leading dealers in Royal Hawaiian coinage in the 1970s. At the time, the coin was graded XF with the notation "salt air" referring of course to the environmental effect of the tropical climate where these coins circulated in the late 19th century.

Nearly all of the Royal Hawaiian silver dollars were melted when Hawaii became a US territory. Very few of these coins regardless of condition exist today. We are happy to offer this popular, well detailed and attractive coin to our online collectors. This is the least expensive Hawaiian Silver dollar we've ever offered. Please also see our listing of other Hawaiian coins available both at our store in California and online. This coin will be shipped insured.
