This is a beauty! 34.5mm steel case (excluding crown). Smiths were usually solid gold, gold plated or chromium plated. Stainless steel ones are very uncommon and of course far more durable than the other finishes. This is in absolutely beautiful condition and it is a very fine watch indeed.

Working well and keeping time very well. I purchased this from the recognised authority on Smiths watches (James Merrins) a few years ago. James serviced it just prior to sending it to me, which was in 2010.

It is fitted with a lovely vintage strap by Kreisler with signed Kreisler buckle. There’s plenty of wear left in the strap. The whole package has a lovely vintage vibe. I would estimate the age of the watch to be early to mid 1960s.

The acrylic crystal is unmarked. The pearl finish dial is virtually mint and completely original and untouched. The case is in fine order with just the usual signs of careful use over the years. The movement is the very competent 17 jewel English made Smiths hand-wound movement with the normal frosted gilt finish. The English made Smiths are very underrated watches in my opinion.
