An 8 1/2" diameter plate, probably of German manufacture depicting Lt Col R. Baden-Powell, the hero of Mafeking and founder of the Boy Scout movement. He was promoted Major General after the siege of Mafeking was lifted on 16th May 1900. This image of Baden-Powell was taken from a 1896 photograph. The plate is in very good condition with no chips or cracks.
