1921 Indonesia (Dutch East Indies) 5 Cents (1913 to 1922)

 diameter: 21mm

Weight: 5

Thickness 1.75mm

This is the best quality coin I have seen of this age, there are a few on eBay but they are in bad condition.

Known as Indonesia today, the Dutch were in control of the Netherlands East Indies until 1942. Several different type of coins were minted bearing a Nederlandsch Indie inscription along with predominantly Muslim designs and writing.

Most of the coins were minted at the Philadelphia PA (USA) mint.

If you can find one of these 5 cent coins from the Dutch (Netherlands, Netherlandsch) East Indies (Indie), you have found a valuable coin. Just about all of these that you see are worn, sometimes to a frazzle. The catalog values shown below demonstrate the strong dependence on condition. Not many coins have lettering in Latin, Arabic, and Sanskrit, but this one does!
