Here's a beautiful 1970 Barracuda Gran Coupe, upgraded to a 440 ci,
with RARE "Deep Burnt Orange Metallic" exterior (code correct-FK5 paint),
and original (numbers matching) Burnt Orange/Black hounds tooth interior (code-PK54) "combo,"
with the highly sought after, date correct "6 Pack"!!!
The Six Pack gave Plymouth newly minted firepower
for the muscle-car wars.
After the Holley three 2-barrel layout arrived
on selected 440 ci Road Runners in 1969,
it was made available on all
high-performance 440 models on the line in 1970.
That included the car
offered here, the restyled E-body Cuda, which took the brand to a whole
new level of excitement for hot-car enthusiasts.
Indeed, many vehicles
of this design built during an all-too-short production run are now lost
to history,
and this remaining example is a STUNNING ("more refined Gran Coupe") 'Cuda!
Painted in the Deep Burnt
Orange Metallic with NEW black vinyl top and matched black hockey stripes,
it also features a Burnt Orange interior with deluxe black "hounds tooth" inserts,
rarely optioned in any E-body!
Under the hood is Chrysler’s big lung—the
440 ci "Super Commando" engine complete
with date-coded 1970 carburetors (3x2 barrels),
mildly upgraded for street performance
and featuring dual exhaust with
factory-design rear valance-exit chrome tips.
No column shift here;
rather, the short-throw Hurst Pistol Grip emerges from the optional
center console, connected to a (code-A833) 4-speed transmission.
Handling
is assisted by power steering and power brakes, while creature comfort
includes
factory-design A/C. There is the optional
trunk-mount luggage rack, wide sill moldings,
body-color dual side
mirrors and ("Cuda 440-6 Pack") power bulge hood to complete an
aggressive outside
appearance.
The interior showcases a Rallye dash, center console with
lidded compartment,
overhead console with warning lights, tinted glass and nostalgic (original) AM radio.
Finally, stylish
Rallye wheels and Firehawk radial tires touch ground in all four corners
for an enjoyable driving experience.
The first-year Six Pack Cuda
created its own legacy and value back in the day.
This car, with its extensive list of "optional"
equipment and exceptional appearance,
will carry that tradition forward
in your collection.
Oh! And by the way, this '70 Cuda' RUNS LIKE A FRIGGIN' BEAST (runs/drives great)!!!
Not exactly a "grocery-getter", but you'll have fun driving to car shows and road trippin'.
This car is rust-free (95%), all body panels are amazingly straight and well preserved.
All chrome trim, bumpers, and luggage rack, etc. are 100%!
