This is a vintage German chronograph pilot's wrist watch from a local estate (no band). Searching on-line, we see that this model and serial number range was assembled in 1945 by Dr. Ernst Kurtz of Glashütte under contract to the US Army. It is a Huge chronograph, measuring approximately 38.8mm diameter (not including lugs, crown, or pushers). It is in incredible unrestored 100% Original Condition (possibly unused, no jeweler's servicing marks / see images). The case is chrome with stainless screw-back. The original finish black dial has original luminous Arabic numerals (see images). It is running and keeping time on our bench, but not tested for an extended period (balance wheel pictured in motion, see close-up images). The chronograph's START, STOP, and seconds FLY-BACK functions all operate with crisp pusher action. Very little signs of handling to case, crown, or pushers (see images). We are not jewelers or watch experts, so the only things we see to mention are loose original Crystal, and Fly-back seconds hand returns 1.5 seconds from 12 O'clock (see images / it should be serviced by a qualified expert). We believe that this is likely the finest example of the 1945 Dr. Ernst Kurtz - Glashütte contract for US Army in existence. It displays beautifully. It is being sold in as-found / unserviced condition, strictly for restoration, parts, or display. International insured shipping available.
