Six Digit Nixie Clock Kit - Includes: PCB and Parts

BEFORE YOU BUY ... PLEASE !!!! PLEASE !!!!    READ THE INSTRUCTION LINK  > It contains a section of what is NOT INCLUDED ! (AS IN NOT, or YOU WON'T FIND IT IN THE BAG)  PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU BUY !

In kit form,  you get a circuit that is a six digit nixie clock, plus has additional on-board dekatron,  chime, and HV supply circuits. 9VAC are the preferred input voltages. Up to 11VAC, or as low as 7VAC acceptable. The current draw varies on the type of nixie tube you use, but 1 amp is the absolute minimum. A 2 amp wallcube maybe needed if you're driving IN-18s. A 5.5mm OD x 2.5mm ID power jack is provided, so wallcubes can be used.

This is Revision C (NC5C), released after May 15, 2016. The earlier boards are NC5 & NC5A. The few changes are shown on the  instruction page, . Back in June 9, 2015, Revision B kits were being shipped. Those used the revision A board (NC5A), but were being shipped with a few components of different value. Revision C cleans up the silkscreen, and uses the same parts as Revision B, with on minor exception. Details in the instruction link.

An HV switching supply needed to generate the 170V, to power the nixies, is optional, since this board already includes  one. It however, is only good for tubes such as the IN-12 and IN-14, or smaller. A connector location, is provided for an external supply, if large tubes, such as the IN-18 are used. This connector accommodates my supplies, which are also sold at my eBay Store. Look for the kit, NK01A, or the preassemble version NS6A

Here's a link to all the instructions you need to build this kit, once you receive it:  Clock Kit.

Nixie tubes dekatron are to be acquired separately, by the buyer. There are many sources available, both on eBay, and elsewhere online. The nixies do not mount directly the board. Connector locations are provided for nixies, and dekatron groups. This way you are not limited to certain particular types of tubes.

This is a completely new design, from my previous clock kit. All parts are current production items, that I can gather locally. To minimize parts count, and simplify construction, it is based around an Atmel AVR mega88 microcontroller. This a pre-programmed chip, that comes with the kit. All the information on assembly is in the Instruction link,

Here's a video of the clock running.

Here's a audio clip of the chimes.

Full kit with parts - no cuts required !

It's a "KIT" !!! That means you get a bare board, and parts. You must solder it together ! That's what KIT means !

What comes with the kit mounts on that one, and only red rectangular board. The perf board, holding the nixies, is NOT included. That assembly holding the dekatron is my homemade socket, which is also NOT included. "Dekatron Support", is circuitry, on the main PCB. The 5 signals coming off P5, then can be directly (electrically, not necessarily connector wise) connected to any 2-guide dekatron. Dekatrons may have 7, 8, 13 or 17 pins. Some of those 5 signals may connect to multiple pins on the dekatron. SEE the  instructions !!! PLEASE - Review the instructions carefully, including the section covering PARTS NOT INCLUDED before you buy, to see if this is the right kit for you !!!

I'd rather not sell a kit, than to sell it to someone who will not be happy with it !

Features on this unit are: 6 digit nixie drive (hh:mm:ss), dekatron drive (2 patterns, selectable), Chimes (2 modes, selectable), alarm clock mode, 12 or 24 hour display, neon colon drive, and battery powered RTC (Real Time Clock) to keep the time, during power outages. The clock also uses the AC line frequency, or its on board crystal for its timebase, automatically.

Board measures 5.0in x 3.0in (127 x 76mm).

Shipping Weight: 8 oz

If postage looks high, place the items in the eBay "Cart", and request an invoice from me. The shipping calculator, is usually not accurate on multiple items.

Items shipped to your eBay registered address (not Paypal's). Contact me using eBay's messaging system. I DO NOT read my email. Its used only as the Paypal payment link.

Domestic shipments automatically have "Delivery Confirmation", which essentially is a tracking method. International shipments will only have their "Customs Declaration" number listed, unless the foreign buyer chooses "Registered Mail". With "Registered Mail", the package can be tracked. "Registered Mail", will incur and additional $12.00 US to the total cost. If you want this option please contact me and wait to be invoiced. If you just pay for it (without being invoiced), the item will be shipped without tracking. eBay only required that I (the seller) prove that I shipped it. A "Customs Declaration" will satisfy that requirement. Its your nickel. From NOW ON, if its lost and you DID NOT pay for registered mail, then THAT'S IT !

There has been a history of delayed packages to some European Union countries. Actually, only Germany. Parcels to Germany will now have a "Packing List Envelope" adhered to the outside, to appease German Customs. If you are in Germany, your package can be held up in Customs for up to 6 weeks !

I will not refund shipping, and you must cover the cost of the return. Please, DO NOT open the pink antistatic bags, if you think about returning it. Once the antistatic bags are open, I must assume the semiconductors are damaged, and I can not reuse them. I will not sell them to another customer. There are sellers on eBay, with ethics !

Please do not ask me for expedited shipping. I usually ship the day following the order, but I may not make it to the post office, due to other commitments. I won't make promises that I can't guarantee.

Please pay or contact me about payment within three days after the end of the auction. Paypal preferred. Domestic buyers contact for other payment methods. Paypal ONLY from foreign buyers. If you are sending your payment thru the mail, please email me that you are doing so. I have recently cancelled my mental telepathy services, so I can no longer read your minds.
