These 1992 5 inch (approximately) Kenner Aliens action figures were based on a planned animated series that was never made called "Operation Alien". The premise was that Alien DNA had been mixed with that of various Earth creatures and that the resulting alien life form contained the characteristics of the donar creature. It was these hybrid Xenomorphs that the "Space Marines"  would be doing battle with. Despite the fact that the animated series was never made, Kenner went on to release the toy line and changed the heading to "Aliens". These figures ran over four series from 1992-4, with series three and four being released in The UK only. Series one figures also included a Face Hugger and Dark Horse comic with artwork that would have probably been similar to that seen in the planned animated series. Series two were still being issued with the Face Huggers but no comic. Series three did not contain the comic and were available generally in The UK. Series four were only available from Woolworths in 1994 and included a Face Hugger, Bio Data Card, back story and a 3D Space Base, each carded figure contained one numbered part of the six piece base that built up into a semi circular 3D control room diorama. Due to the short run and limited availability of this these figures, mint and carded examples are rare and sought after. More information on these figures can be found on the excellent toyarchive.com website.

This listing contains a Woolworth only issue series 4 Ripley Space Marine (65790) with 3D Space Base (Zone 5), Turbo Torch action and Bio Data Card which is factory sealed, mint on a very good card and has the original Woolworths price label.
