As with all very dark Neutral Density Filters (Hoya, B&W etc) these filters produce a slight blue colour (color) cast.
This is completely normal and can be eliminated (removed) using a custom white balance on a digital camera, or through most photo editing software.

ND Filters are used to reduce light intensity from sunshine, snow and glare etc.

They're ideal for video, still, digital and photo working by reducing the amount of light reaching the film or sensor, but with no affect on colour balance.

The four main uses for the filters are:

1. Enables slower shutter speeds to be used, so they can display movement instead of freezing motion. For example, creative waterfall shots.
2. Reduces depth of field in very bright lighting conditions.  Effecively blurring the background.
3. Decreases Film Speed.
4. Allow video cameras to operate in brighter lighting conditions than usual
