Here I have for sale a beautiful Singer "New Family" 12k fiddlebase transverse shuttle sewing machine, in bentwood case, complete with accessories and (incomplete) original manual pages.

The machine's serial number - 8766829, combined with the manual, indicate this to be a machine manufactured in Singer's Clydebank factory in Scotland in 1889.

The machine is decorated in the elaborate, golden Acanthus Leaves pattern with the symmetrical version of the design on the faceplate. The decals are in very good condition, with comparatively little wear for a machine of this age. See photos.

Serviced and sewing nicely - not bad for a machine that was made over 125 years ago!
