Fresh from an estate pre owned Nymphenburg Porcelain French Bull Dog in excellent condition. There is nothing wrong with the dog. He is excellent. It is fully marked with the shield and the number 648. There is a 9 underneath the other three numbers. Thanks to its friendly character and striking appearance, the French bulldog is an attractive companion. The fascination for this breed over time made them popular among the highest circles of the nobility. The artist Konrad Schmid also seems to have succumbed to this breed, for he portrays these elegant animals in various situations and stages of growth. This magnificent example of an alert French bulldog was made in 1928, modelled on an award-winning male belonging to breeder Dr. Hohwein, near Lake Starnberg, outside Munich. The French Bull Dog measures 2.8" x 6.3" I took more pictures with a ruler to show better measurements. Manufacturer: Nymphenburg, Germany Material: Hand-painted porcelain.
