Be careful when buying on ebay!!

Rule of thumb: If a seller is selling multiple (3+) of the same rare pet shops then likely fakes.  If your buying from China, Hong Kong or some other Asian country then likely fake.  IF the picture is too blurry to see the molding then its fake.  If there is only one picture then likely fake.  If the listing says 3" toy and it is a picture of what you think is a Hasbro LPS then its a fake that you can't get a refund for because they never said it was LPS or Hasbro.

Here what to look for when buying on ebay if you want AUTHENTIC!

I didn't have any fakes to take pictures of myself but I did find one being listed from a US seller on ebay so I will use that to show you the fake mold...

Its in the molding!  Authentic collies have molding that is the exact same on every single authentic collie (NO EXCEPTIONS).  I took pictures that are very clear so you can look at the molding on the authentic pets and compare it to the ones on ebay... Also, the hexagonal shape on the bottom of the foot should have a circle around it... NOT ALWAYS though but the MOLDING is a way to verify since the circles can be very faint.  These fakes are also made of a HARD plastic... but since you can't FEEL things on ebay then the best way to avoid fakes is to look for collies with authentic Hasbro molds.  If you can't see the mold on a listing and the seller is selling multiples of the same pet then its fake and the lack of detailed pictures is intentional.  Also, pegs on AUTHENTIC LPS are clear... not white.

Watch for seller from Malden, MA... when you look at their feedback, below their rating it says they are located in China!

Be mindful when shopping for pet shops!

I am selling these fakes (have to say that so listing doesn't get deleted). This is also for educational purposes which is absolutely free:)

Also, if you do want fakes then just buy them direct from China or Hong Kong, don't buy from a seller here and pay three times as much.

One ebay user did let me know she bought a fake on ebay (listing said it was authentic) but the neck connector was white as shown in the last picture.. needless to say, her child dropped the pet shop and the head broke off.  Authentic pet shop heads NEVER break or fall off.

Please check out my other listings on how to spot fakes... "Pet Shop Warning Listing".

If you see fakes on ebay... please report them here: http://ocswf.ebay.com/rti/compose?items=null&seller=null

With enough people reporting the listings then they will get taken down
