This beautiful ALL ORIGINAL 1940's vintage Buren chronograph features a superb factory original multi-colored dial with even patina consistent with age, fancy solid stainless steel over chromium case with wear consistent to its age, and a Venus caliber 170 "up-down" column wheel style chrono movement ticking away strong and keeping perfect time, just serviced by a watchmaker!! As you can see this is a great looking timepiece in every way. The dial is superb with an outer 1/5th seconds track on silver, then in red a telemeter track, elongated style numbers then an inner tachymeter snail with 30 minute counter at 12:00 and constant seconds at 6:00. Signed Buren, Swiss. The sporty, Art Deco look is completed perfectly with those simple blues steel hands with a bright matching blue chrono counter hand. It measures at 32mm in diameter excluding the original crown, 33.5 with crown, and pushers and will come without a strap, perfect black slate for the astute collector. Inside we find the famous Venus calibre 170 chronograph movement in very nice overall condition with clean movement plates and just a bit of tarnish on some of the parts but running well and overall very clean. It is ticking away strong and has kept good time for over 24 hours now. It is fully signed Buren Watch Co SA, 17 Jewels, Swiss Unadjusted etc... Inside the back is also signed Buren Watch Co SA, Swiss, Stainless Steel. This is one of those special watches that has that perfect amount of patina on the dial and wear on the unpolished case to give it that classy, yet sporty vintage feel.
