This is a gorgeous vintage sterling silver butterfly brooch featuring Marcasite and ruby red glass...or it could be a real ruby...I have no idea...if it is, you scored!  :)  It is signed 925!

This beauty measures approx. 2" X 1-1/8" weighs in at approx. 7.8 grams!
