An Original WWII Polish Government In Exile Issue Cross Of Valour Complete With Ribbon

Issued - From 1941

Condition - Very Good - Please See Photos

All Of The Polish Medals And Badges We Currently Have For Sale Were Purchased From A Gentleman Who's Wife Had Recently Passed Away. When The Gentleman Was Going Through His Wife's Possessions He Came Across The Medals, They Had Been Married For Over 35 Years And He Had Never Seen Them Before, So From Where She Had Acquired Them From Is Uncertain As There Are No Polish Relatives On Either Side Of The Family. Unfortunately There Were No Accompanying Documents With Any Of The Medals.

The Polish Government In Exile, In London, Resumed The Use Of 1920 On The Cross Of Valour From 1941 Onwards. A Total Of About 40,000 Original WWII Era Crosses Were Made By Various English Companies And Some Were Made In Palestine, Italy And France. Most Eagles On These Issues Have Shorter Tails And Larger Claws Compared To The Pre-War Crosses. Exile Crosses Usually Have Normal A's With A "-" Cross Stroke. None Of These Exile Issued Crosses Were Officially Numbered During WWII. Sizes Vary From 40mm x 40mm to 44mm x 44mm.
