Sitzendorf porcelain is identified and valued by its year of manufacture. The mark on this piece is one of the earliest Sitzendorf marks identifying it as being from about 1900 when the Voigt Brothers were in charge of production. This is a highly desirable trait indicating beauty of design, fine porcelain manufacturing, and excellence of hand work.

At the helm is a lovely child with curly golden hair and a short gown slipping off one shoulder. The little figure is marvelously detailed-- skillfully sculpted, leaning into the weight of the load, and very well painted.

The wheelbarrow, festooned with dazzlingly delicate pink and yellow roses, has a wheel that actually rolls.

One leaf is chipped-- It's at the front and top edge. I don't see any other damage and this piece is otherwise impeccable.
