incredibly rare,charming clockwork bus...penny toy
UNKNOWN MAKER...HAVE NEVER SEEN IT BEFORE
rear of the bus is simply marked "GERMANY"
c.1920
measures appx. 8 cm length....just over 3 inches.
very appealing green & white livery;with great contrasting red tinplate wheels.
bus has wonderful early litho printed windows.......displaying some 13 passengers,all in period attire.....men,women and children...plus a uniformed driver.
internal clockwork/wind-up mechanism.......with unique non-fall action.
little chrome grill....mudguards
with a careful wind-up of the old motor,the bus will steadily drive along....on reaching the edge of the surface,the mechanism stops to prevent the bus falling off!

bus appears with all original finish...no repainting or touch-up.
condition is nice;showing some expected 90 years of age/play wear.....with some little spider marks, chips,scuffs,scratch marks.....some exposed bare metal oxide tarnishing to undersides(see image)....bus is nice and solid and after 90 odd years it still makes a great little display.....AND STILL WORKS.
VERY RARE TINPLATE PENNY TOY BUS.....NOW SOME 90+ YEARS OLD....NOT A MODERN ITEM.
