Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a mid / late 1950's... possibly early 1960's Shure 520SL with magnetic controlled transducer set at HighZ that was originally intended as a "general purpose" microphone. These were commonly used as dispatch mics in hospitals, police stations and schools. This timeless looking mic is highly collectible and looks great just about anywhere they are displayed.

This mic comes with it's original A88A "push to talk" hand grip and S-36 desk stand. It's an Evanston, Illinoise model but the plant moved there in 1956 so it's hard to say exactly what year this was manufactured?

As you can see this mic is in pretty nice overall cosmetic condition. It shows lite wear for it's age but it functions perfectly which is always a plus. There are small chips of paint missing here and there along with a few scuffs mostly on the S-36 base. There is the smallest of fine pitting on the satin chrome A88A handle as well but the front grill looks really good and free of any dents. The original metal screen is still present too and free of damage. Overall the mic is way above average and I would give it a conservative 8 on a scale of 1 -10. Please let the detailed pics be your guide.  The element is certainly strong enough to use. These make excellent harp mics as well with a dirty distinct sound.

This set up is 100% complete. The A88A can be adjusted to full on position. In pic # 8 you'll see the plastic lever. It can be pushed in and lowered to keep the mic live at all times if needed?

The S-36 desk stand has all original paint as well as the shure insignia, 5 pads and cable clip.

The only thing missing is the screw on 3 pin cable but these are easy enough to find on Ebay.

  As always...

I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not...I have a no hassle return policy. The shipping will be on you as I believe that's fair but the purchase price would be refunded. Simply return in the same nice condition...period. Check my rating. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS are welcome as well. Buyer must pay within 24 hours or an unpaid case will be opened due to too many unpaid mics lately. Domestic buyer will get priority shipping.

If you have any questions feel free to ask and...thanks for looking.
