DescriptionAntique Italian brooch - micro mosaic cross hilt ( bird stars and flower design); fashioned in gilt metal / pinchbeck as a sword with sheath stick pin; possibly suitable for shawl or wool scarf, but can be attached to any garment by piercing with the blade and secured by sliding the sheath into place. There is a tiny piece of red mosaic missing at the bottom end of the marquise shaped bird pattern (only noticeable when seen under magnification) and some loss of gilding - otherwise good condition.
