This is a restored and working very
well Zenith Model J615W vacuum tube AM radio introduced in 1952. This is a 6 tube, 3 gang tuner
radio that allows it to receive stations very well with good clear sound and
volume.
The chassis has been thoroughly
cleaned; the volume control de-oxidized; all moving controls lubricated. All old electrolytic and wax capacitors in
the chassis have been replaced with new modern capacitors and all resistors and
wiring checked. All 6 easily found tubes
have been tested and questionable tubes have been replaced. The line cord has
been replaced with a new white required 18 gauge cord with molded, polarized
plug. The speaker is in great condition. The radio has been successfully bench tested
for days and should continue to play loud and clear for years.
The case has been thoroughly washed
and has no bad odors. The radio case has
been repainted the original off-white or ivory color to look like new. There are no cracks or chips in the case. It would look nice and retro on a table or
shelf and could be used as a daily AM radio.
The small red pilot bulb lights up when the radio is turned on. The top carrying handle has a break in the
wrapping but is fully functional for carrying the radio. It has been rebuilt with new rubber elastic
inside. The knobs are original.
The radio size is approximately 8”
high by 13” wide by 7” deep and weighs about 6½ pounds. Shipping weight should be about 8 pounds.
I take pride in my shipping and the
radio will be carefully packaged to arrive safely.
