L'Eau en Blanc is Lolita Lempicka's latest limited edition flanker to what is now known as Lolita Lempicka Le Premier Parfum (it used to be called just plain old Lolita Lempicka). L'Eau en Blanc, appropriately enough, was reportedly inspired by the brand's wedding gowns:

With this new Eau de Parfum, Lolita Lempicka brings all women in love an Ode to Love, a new story that every girl dreams of being the heroine of one day...

And that's a pretty good fit with the juice: it's a powdery floral, very much in keeping with the recent trend of cosmetic powder perfumes (Love, Chloé, et al). The opening is a little heavy and berry-sweet for my taste, but it settles nicely into something closer to the (again, on-trend) minimalist veil of powder idea (Cartier Baiser Volé, Prada Infusion d'Iris and their various friends & relations). It is only vaguely related to Le Premier Parfum — the iris and violet notes are emphasized, the licorice is muted to the barest whisper, and you would never peg it as the offspring of Thierry Mugler's Angel.

The dry down is creamy and pale, middling sweet, and mostly clean, although there's an earthy undercurrent to the base that intensifies the longer it's on skin. L'Eau en Blanc is pretty and romantic rather than sexy or bold, and perfectly easy to wear, which again, fits in nicely with the bridal theme. On the other hand, I wore it quite happily the past couple days with shorts and a t-shirt, and it did not feel out of place.

I like L'Eau en Blanc, but it has a lot of competition in its class. I'd probably pick Love, Chloé or Baiser Volé or Balenciaga Paris over L'Eau en Blanc, and I already own Infusion d'Iris and Hermès Eau Claire des Merveilles. But if you're still looking for your perfect modern powder, it is worth testing.
