Greetings Collectors!

Shown here is a rare Antique Victorian majolica portrait tile depicting an old man with long hair and a beard. Sometimes called the Michelangelo tile? Made by J W WADE c1885-90 - 6" x 6". The tile is heavily embossed and covered in a mid brown/amber coloured majolica glaze. A handsome good looking tile. The overall condition is very good with no real problems other than a tiny corner flea-bite, there is a stable hairline crack running 1.5" - 2" from the centre top edge into the main tile body. Not obvious.  It displays beautifully. No wear to the glossy surface. A great collector's tile and one that should join others of the type. The tile carries no trademark for Wade on the rear but is typical of the factory. The tile is heavier than normal and consequently a little more to post. The winning buyer can expect careful packing and swift dispatch.
