Andie MacDowell has starred in such films as Sex Lies and Video Tape (Los Angeles Critics Award Best Actress & nominated Golden Globe Award Best Acress), Green Card (nominated Golden Globe Award Best Actress), The Player, Short Cuts (Chicago Film Critics Award Best Actress), Groundhog Day (Saturn Award Best Actress), Four Weddings and a Funeral (nominated Golden Globe Award Best Actress), The Object of Beauty (with John Malkovich), Bad Girls, Michael (with John Travolta), Greystoke, St. Elmo's Fire, Shadrach (with Harvey Keitel), Hudson Hawk, Multiplicity (Harold Ramis), Unstrung Heroes (with John Turtoro), and others, and has appeared on the television series Lone Star.
In the early 1980s MacDowell modeled for Vogue magazine and appeared in ad campaigns for Yves Saint Laurent, Vassarette, Armani perfume, Sabeth-Row, Mink International, Anne Klein and Bill Blass. She worked with such photographers as Bruce Weber, Richard Avedon, Helmut Newton, Irving Penn, and Herb Ritts among others. A series of billboards in Time Square and national television commercials for Calvin Klein drew attention to her and led to her 1984 film debut.
