Pearl has given their Sensitone line a once over, breathing new life into these highly practical drums by redesigning their hardware and shell compositions. This particular snare is crafted from high grade aluminum and features a beaded, seamless shell. The bead helps redirect the sound, giving the drum enhanced articulation and attack. Aluminum is an ideal material for a work horse drum due to it’s incredible versatility. It has a warm, almost dark sound that is incredibly articulate with a vast tuning range. It fits effortlessly into any musical setting and has a great cut that is sure to get you noticed.
The Sensitone Series is outfitted with Pearl’s SR-150 snare strainer. The SR-150 features a Gladstone-style throw-off and Click-Lock technology. The Click-Lock feature locks the snare tension to retain your settings no matter how hard you play. This drum is also outfitted with one of Pearl's signature hoops, the SuperHoop II. This hoop is heavy and balanced, keeping the drum in tune longer. The low-mass tube lugs allow the drum to breath and resonate freely while giving the drum a classy, timeless look.
