One of the reason why Mercedes are so smooth and quiet is becuase their brake rotors are harmonically balanced. 99% of the companies that sell cross drilled rotors does not offer harmonically balanced rotors. These rotors will create unwanted noise inside the cabin during braking.

DRT Noise Reduction Technology (NRT) will eliminate the harmonic noise during braking. Conventional (old school) cross drilled or slotted rotor creates harmonic frequencies (humming) during braking. As the wheel rotate with NRT rotors 1 side will create positive harmonc frequency, the other side will create negative frequency. When the harmonic frequencies crosses path the harmonic noise is cancelled. NRT rotors will eliminate humming noise in the cabin for a comfortable driving experience.

NRT rotors does not have any negative affect on the performance nor will it reduce the longevity of the rotor. It has been tested and proven to reduce harmonic noise. NRT rotors are none directional.
