Why Shoot AR400 & AR500 targets?

Our AR400 & 500 targets meet our internal guidelines on the Brinell Hardness Chart to insure 

A Steel Target that matches the hardness of “Armor Plate Steel”.

This provides you a Steel Target that can withstand thousands of rounds, and years of family fun, when shot from reasonable distances with proper ammo. 

AR500 is encouraged for all Centerfire rounds.

All AR400 & AR500 targets can be shot with rimfire ammo unless designated “air-rifle” targets. 

What is a “reasonable distance” & “proper ammo” to shoot Steel Targets?

We strongly discourage shooting any steel target at any distance less than 15 yards.

NO Steel Target is “bullet-proof”, the shooter must adjust his distance and bullet type after a few hits on target, most pistol rounds will not leave a “pit” from 15 yards on our targets while a centerfire rifle at less than 100 yards, might. 

For firearms shooting a bullet under 2000 fps we recommend starting at 100 yards, for 2000-2800 fps starting at 150 yards and bullets over 2800 fps at least 200 yards and adjust to a distance reasonable to the bullet type and firearm used.

Always check your steel target for damage or large pits and adjust shooting habits accordingly.

NO SHOTGUN SLUGS---NO XM-193 AMMO---- NO STEEL CORE BULLETS-

ANYTHING LARGER THAN A .44 MAG or OVER 3200 fps is NOT RECOMMENDED.

What determines how long my target will last? 

Several factors other than just bullet type and distance can help you extend the life of your target.

A target that is able to “swing” or “move” will absorb less energy than a stationary target, therefore you can shoot it with a heavier bullet with less chance of damage. 

We offer AR400 ¼” steel for small calibers and AR500 from ¼” to 1” for larger calibers.

We also keep our targets IN SCALE with most NATIONAL SHOOTING DISCIPLINES to ensure you are shooting the same size targets as the PROS!

What is covered under your “Shoot’em Up Warranty”?

First, as we have said there is NO “bullet-proof” steel.

We will work with you on any issues relating to Steel Targets on a case by case basis.

Please provide the following when contacting us for repairs.

• Distance
  
• Type of ammo used
  
• Type of gun used
  
• Pics of the problem with your target.
  

Any “manufactured” parts NOT INTENDED TO BE SHOT (i.e welds, brackets, swinging arms, springs, etc...) feature a LIFETIME WARRANTY.

 Many, many factors go into how much range-time you will get from our Steel Targets.

Common Sense will play a large part in staying safe and having fun with any target.
