Beyond rare & has never seen the light of day, a 100% authentic vintage1980s CHANEL No22 Nº22 Eau de Toilette 80% 

200ml 6.8 FL.OZ MINT SEALED condition, very little printed to back of box bar a few notes regards the contents, alcohol, water, fragrance, with date/batch code 6114 stamped into the base flap, the same code etched into the back of the bottle, right down towards the bottom in the centre (you need to twist the box in the light to see them). The bottle stands at 13.7cm/just under 5.4" & has Chanels magical "sprung" screw cap which as always has stopped any evaporation.

This is what Chanel No22 is all about,   so exquisitely fragranced as to take your breath away, a subtle powdery-sharp blast of the past. Quite incredibly rare, in fact, it is beyond rare to find one of these huge pre barcode bottles untouched. I have never in all my years of selling, dealing with & collecting vintage Chanel ever found a better example. 

I felt it only fair to gently open the box from the base & try the perfume, for both my own & the buyers peace of mind, to discover that it is a thing of great unmitigated beauty.  It took a while to reveal itself, but 5 minutes after applying a drop to my wrist I find myself constantly turning to it, I liken it to the finest vintage No5 Eau de Cologne, (which knocks vintage No5 EDT clean out of the park for sheer beauty, & for those of you who have never tried a vintage EDC then you do not know what you are missing), but with most of the rose & all the jasmin removed. Replaced with a subtle leathery-soapy oakmoss & an almost sappy freshly cut flower bite, it is beyond exquisite.  No other word for it, simply and absolutely fabulous .  This will not drown you, as can a vintage No5 or No19, it sits close to the skin pleading with you to bend to it, now, more minutes into the dry-down it is becoming even more potent.  Not often I do not want to part with a perfume these days, but my daughters University fees need to be addressed :(

100% Authentic One of Chanels finest, & it's almost impossible to believe that this particular formula will NEVER be repeated again by Chanel, as created long before the lunatic age of the new reformulations, contains rose and jasmine oil not found in later blends & also contains  the now banned hydroxicitronellal & Oak Moss (probably two of the most crucial elements in a classic parfum )
