Money gift envelope "Shugi-bukuro"

It is a Japanese tradition for people to hand money   in a money gift envelope to a newlywed couple.
Most of people insert 30,000 yen, sometimes 10,000 yen.
It may be a bit strange why Japanese people present  so much money as a gift.
It is quite common that a reception banquet costs  more than 3 million to 3.5million yen.
That's why people who attend the banquet bring money as a expression of celebration  and as a support of the expense. This envelope is decorated with artistic decoration because it is used for a expensive money gift.

"Shugi-bukuro" are special envelopes in which money is given as a gift at special occasions.
Very common in Japan for events such as : Weddings, Birthdays, Graduations, Births, parting gift, etc.

It's also nice to present to "Shugi-bukuro" including a card, a picture and an invitation, etc.
