The loss of the Titanic resulted in the Radio Act of 1912 that required 24-hour radio watches (as in a man watching the horizon not in referance to a timepiece). The act also led to the requirement for radio room clock dials to have three-minute periods marked in red. That three minutes provided a silent period when only emergency radio messages could be transmitted.

Interesting historic style souvenir watch, designed in the style of RMS Titanic, White Star Line & Marconi Marine with its vintage type radio room style watch dial.  The enamel style WSL dial displays the zone markings in keeping with radio silence periods as was the case on radio room clocks in the period immediatley after the Titanic disaster.

The watch uses a good quality battery quartz movement (by the Citizen Corp), it has a flat mineral glass lense and pleasing gator style strap in black.
Good size gents watch, 35mm in diameter including the crown the strap extends to 24cm length so good up to an 8 inch wrist.  The watch case is rated at 3ATM.

Overall an unusual item and a nice way to commemorate the improvements brought to marine safety after the Titanic disaster. very collectable and also not widely available so very individual to display on the wrist.

Watch is not supplied with a box, but will be presented in a black velvet jewellery pouch.
