found in Dominican Amber History.
Only 3 Specimens of ANOLIS LIZARD on Dominican Amber have been described
at the present day and all of them are poorly preserved - One lacks the Tail, others
lacks part of Body and/or Skin Parts.
ANOLIS LIZARD belongs to the large family of IGUANIDAE and with more than
250 species constitute the largest genus of lizards in the world.
ANOLIS LIZARDS differ from other lizards by 2 characteristics: an extensible
dewlap and of sub digital toe pads.
Close comparison of ANOLIS LIZARDS fossils with their descendants alive today
in the Caribbean shows that Lizards have changed just a little in the last 20M years.
