Why do I need a mains block?
One of the easiest ways to advance the performance of your Hi-Fi or Home Cinema is to improve its connection to the mains supply. Not surprisingly, ordinary mains extension blocks can degrade your system’s performance so connecting your mains cables together with a high quality extension is crucial.
So what’s the solution then?

The block - Each socket is childproof shuttered and individually earthed. The covering is made of break-resistant plastic and the mains sockets are angled for quick removal of plugs. High-performance aside, our blocks include a bracket at one end so it’s easy to wall mount if you need to. These power blocks are used extensively by Merlin Cables and True Colours Industries.
The cable - An audiophile grade annealed Oxygen Free Copper 3 core. The conductors are encased in a highly flexible inner jacket, which in turn is surrounded by a braided steel screen. This "earth" screen forms an RFI shield around the inner cores and thus stops mains noise proactively.
The plug - The Cryogenic Audiophile Orange - A plug designed some 3 years ago by cable experts Seduction Audio, now tried and tested by several thousand high fidelity users to total acclaim.
3 Stage cryo treatment – At stage one, the pins and connectors are submerged in immersion liquid nitrogen and cooled to -196 degrees Celsius. Computer calibrated plateaus are used to slow the metals decent in temperature and then used again to ascend the metal to ambient room temperature. Finally the cryogenically exposed areas are then scrutinised and quality tested.
Stage two includes a slow buffer Brasso treatment on the plug inserts and concludes with DeoxIT™ D5 contact enhancer. This lifts the top oxidised layer of metal and results in a brilliant finish plug, primed ready to use.
Stage three is the addition of ProGold™ G5 and CaliLube on plastic-to-metal parts. All plugs are finished with a silver contact fuse rated at 13 amps.
