These new generation duvet protectors are made from a high technology polypropylene double layered non woven fabric which is light and has a wipe clean top surface. They are widely used throughout the care industry both in nursing homes and hospitals.

Due to the clever material construction the material is light and flexible yet liquids, dust mites and other allergens cannot pass. This ensures any allergens in the underlying mattress cannot get through and dust mites are denied a habitat in which they can survive and thrive.

The fabric also contains an anti-microbal agent which gives protection against the growth of bacteria and fungi.

These duvet protectors are very practical, as the wipe clean top surface means spillages can be cleaned in situ without the need for removal and washing.

Made with a zipped closure these duvet protectors are very easy to use.

Easy to care for the protectors can be machine washed at up to 60 º C but should not be ironed. They can be washed repeatedly. The 6 washes in the technical specification table is merely the number washes they were tested for. Do not iron or use bleach.

Whilst they are lighter in weight than traditional polythene and rubber alternatives, since the duvet covers are enclosed they will still trap more air within the duvet and increase the insulating effect ie make the duvet warmer. It may therefore be necessary to reduce \ adjust the tog rating of your duvet to avoid being over warm \ excessive sweating in bed.

When new due to the manufacturing process, the material is made flat, it can rustle \ crackle as it first begins to bend and flex. This effect diminishes with time and washing.

The mattress covers are available in both 'fitted sheet style' and 'fully enclosed' vesions.

Both the pillow covers and the duvet covers are zipped at one end.
