Lencarta 40cm Medium Beauty Dish - white - fits Lencarta/Bowens

Beauty Dishes are the favourite light shaping tool of fashion, glamour and portrait photographers who have moved beyond soft lighting and who want to emphasise high cheekbones and good complexions.

Unlike the light from softboxes, the light is very controlled and directional and so is also ideal for backlighting and rimlighting, and for when vignettes are wanted. A free diffuser is included, this softens the light when needed and creates a light similar to that of a softbox.

A honeycomb grid is also available. This allows even greater control of both light spread and flare and can produce stunning, dramatic lighting with very hard shadow transfer edges.

A larger, 70cm (27.5") model is also available.

Our beauty dishes are available with a choice of white or silver finishes. We believe that Lencarta are the first manufacturer to introduce white beauty dishes - so what are the advantages and disadvantages of white compared to silver?
Advantages of white beauty dishes:
1. They produce softer light
2. When used with a honeycomb they do not create a shadow of the honeycomb, reflected from the interior of the dish.
Disadvantages of white beauty dishes:
They are about 0.8 of a stop les efficient in terms of light output, although this is not normally important as they are typically used very close to the subject.

Servicing & Repairs

Here at Lencarta we have our own in-house repair facility. This means that, unlike most other suppliers, we will continue to provide service for the life period of the goods bought from us.

In case your product developed a fault within the 3 year warranty period, we will repair or replace (at our option) the product free of charge, and deliver it back to you carriage paid. For out-of-warranty work we don't operate a 'fixed price' policy and the cost depends on the actual amount of work involved and the cost of any new parts. However because of the robust build quality of our products, most repairs can be carried out at a very low cost. We believe in good service, and we keep our repair charges at near-cost price. If you need out-of-warranty service, please ask for a firm quote when sending the product to us.

In majority of cases our technicians have a fast turnaround of around 7 working days.

You will get expert and totally honest answers to your questions, and those answers will come from many years of experience in professional photography as well as detailed personal experience of using Lencarta (and other) products.

Our FREE training programme includes lighting workshops that we hold in our studio in Bradford. Our workshops are hands on and people tell us that they would still be a bargain if we charged a lot of money for them!

Fast Delivery

All our products are official UK stock, despatched directly from the Lencarta warehouse in West Yorkshire. We deliver quickly - usually you can expect to receive your order on the next working day for most parts of the UK (order needs to be placed before mid-afternoon). We always use reputable courier services with tracking numbers. In the unlikly scenario where a parcel has taken an excessively long period of time to arrive, e.g. 5 days after schedule, please contact us for an investigation.

We deliver to customers outside the UK as well. However, to ensure you get the best after-sales service we can only deliver to European countries at this moment in time.
