Up for Sale is a original vintage 1876 opalescent inverted thumbprint & blue fan base kerosene lamp.    The lamp stands 17" tall.  The collar is the Taplin-Brown collar with two patent dates stamped on the sides.  These dates are  April 13, 1875 and March 21, 1876, were patents for Alvin Taplin of Forestville, Conn., and George W. Brown of the same town.  The method of manufacture, which involved stamped out thin sheet metal instead of the earlier use of brass tubing, and deep annular grooves to strengthen the thinner sides,   There is  wick in the burner  and the turn knob for the wick works perfectly and on the knob is the a star in the center.   The chimney had stretch lines in the glass.. 

Condition Report:
Excellent condition with  no cracks, fracture, stains or damage in the glass and  the chimney has one small chip at the very top .   One little flea bite chip on the upper edge of the foot. Burner excellent condition for its age. Burner screws off perfectly from collar.
