Japan. Hysteric Glamour, 2003. 1st and only printing of an unspecified print run (approx. 700 -1,000 copies). The first hardcover monograph of Patti Smith's photography. Published in conjunction with Smith's 2003 Tokyo exhibition of photographs originally inspired by 9/11, Strange Messenger.  It reproduces portraits of objects and still lifes in extreme close ups shot with a 250 Land camera. 35 sepia toned illustrations with facsimile pencil handwritten text on each reverse plate.  9.5" X 7".


This copy, signed and dated "Oct 20, 2003" ~on the occasion of Arthur Rimbaud's birth date in the year of publication, remains a one of a kind collector's item.
