This Tiffen AdvantiX ND 3.0 is a Neutral Density filter which provides 10-stop exposure absorption. The high density filter allows you to photograph with a much slower shutter speed or at a wider aperture than normally required.   

This range of filters is the latest from Tiffen and has the added feature of cutting out Infra Red so you can now use strong ND filters on sensitive chip cameras without the fear of IR pollution on images taken in long exposure mode.  

The filters have a slight Greenish cast which can adjusted in your cameras White Balance settings or Post Production software

** Suitable for Colour and Black and White Photography **

Perfect for long exposures in which anything with movement will appear blurred

Also when you want to use faster or more wide open lens apertures to create less depth of field which would normally limit your exposure time

Reduces amount of light passing through camera lens without changing color of scene. 

Especially useful in bright light conditions to help prevent overexposure; balances exposure

Eliminates overly bright, washed-out images 

Controls depth-of-field 

Allows slower shutter speeds to produce blurred motion effects
