Here we have a quite exceptional and quite lovely 8 place setting of solid silver cutlery of quite superb gauge and weight.Hallmarks are deep and clear.
This is a a truly wonderful lot well worth owning and comprises 84 pieces in all.
The condition is as new and it appears to be unused.
The box is wonderful and i even have the key!
All pieces are assayed in Sheffield and dated 1973 (year letter F) and they have a maker's mark for the illustrious George Butler & Co.
The cutlery knives are by George Butler and stamped as such to the flawless stainless steel blades.This is a lovely modern lot and a must have.
A really delightful set! The canteen comprises as follows:
8 dessert forks-7 inches in length-474 grams combined
8 dinner forks-8.25 inches in length-720 grams combined
8 dessert spoons-7.125 inches in length-510 grams combined
8 teaspoons-5.25 inches in length-180 grams combined
4 serving spoons-8.75 inches in length-384 grams combined
8 cake/pastry forks-5.125 inches in length-174 grams combined
8 coffee spoons-4.375 inches in length-118 grams combined

The weighable silver of the above 60 items is a staggering 3066 grams (98.58 troy ounces).
In addition there are with flawless stainless steel blades and hard soldered silver handles:
8 dessert knives-8.375 inches in length-50 grams each
8 dinner knives-9.625 inches in length-56 grams each
8 tea knives-7.25 inches in length-38 grams each
I estimate their silver weight at another 24 troy ounces.
All in all there is just over 122 troy ounces of weighable silver in this superb lot.
These lovely pieces are of exceptional quality and each is a most delightful piece of hefty table silver.
Pattern is most pleasing on the eye and is KINGS double struck..
Each piece is unengraved to both sides and always has been.
