This is one beautiful knife and feels really great -!!Feels and looks fantastic-great size for hunting and general chores. -Click on the ME button by my ebay name above, for directions to my web site and for information on how I build my knives and others I have for sale. The blade is a 4 1/2 inch forward sweep pattern and the knife is 9 1/8 inches overall. The handle is a portion of a walrus oosik from a Native Alaskan artifact purchased off ebay, jade composite  spacers-really attractive!-The guard and butt cap are brass. The oosik had a slightly rough texture so I coated it with several coats of birchwood casey truoil gunstock finish to protect it and improve the grip. The blade is made of 224 layers of O-1 tool steel, S-2 shock steel ( jack hammer bits) and mild steel.

By hammer packing the edges of the blade thin, at least twice during shaping, the number of layers per thickness on the cutting edge are much more dense and correspond to a 400 to 600 layer Damascus. With these 3 steels I get three different hardness levels-as the softer ones wear away and leaves the harder layers behind, the knife self sharpens for a while-it creates a miniature saw edge-after lots of use the saw edge becomes rougher- just a few light swipes on a ceramic rod and it is razor sharp again. Very easy to maintain.

A leather sheath is included that is hand sewn by me, the maker. I make my own Damascus and every part of the knife. E mail if you have questions. Postage and insurance is free. Postage will be different for outside the US. By bidding you are implying that you are of legal age to purchase a knife in your local. I accept  paypal or any other method you would like to pay with.. I have been forging since 1974 and strive to make my knives perform as a quality Damascus should. Don't be fooled by a knife quality just because it is Damascus. There is a lot to making them as good as they can be. I strive for performance first beauty second.
