John Deacons museum quality triple overlay,gingham cut paperweight.this piece is the creme de la creme of paperweights,a triple overlay with gingham cut ,set on a soft pink flash overlay with a further overlay of white and blue with a gingham cut by the master of cutters Gordon Taylor formerly of Perthshire Paperweights,this paperweight took at least 10 hours of complex cutting and  just about forgot about the centre of the paperweight,it is mulutude of complex closepack canes which are John deacons 2016 canes,i have known John for a few years now and i can count on one hand how many times he has made one of these paperweights.This paperweight measures approx 3 1/4 inches in diameterJohn Deacons trained with Strathearn Glass. He was part of the small team who left in 1969 to form Perthshire Paperweights under Stuart Drysdale. In 1980 he left to form ‘J’ Glass. This was due to a desire to develop his own work rather than work under direction at Perthshire. This enterprise grew, employing staff and with a salesman on the road. This was not really Johns’ scene and he now works from a well equipped workshop attached to his home. They produce a very large selection of glass in small quantities. Paperweights range from simple millefiori to complex triple overlays.
