This is due to the fact that not all jeans are true to size. 

Even if you have worn a certain brand before please be aware that not all jeans from that brand may fit the same. 

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: To be 100% sure the jeans will fit, you can measure some of your own jeans that fit you well and compare them to the actual measurements above. 

For example, the waist is measured by laying your jeans on a flat surface, and measuring them straight across. 

In the case of the jeans in this listing, the waist measured 18" across, so we multiply this by 2, (to account for your front and back sides), 

and arrive at 36" which is the waist measurement above.

Please see the photo above that demonstrates how to take the measurements. The waist is the only number that is multiplied by 2 to arrive at the size. 

- The two most important measurements are the waist and the inseam. These are the numbers that you will see when you look at the size tags in your jeans. 

-> The format could be given as W32 L30 or 32 x 30. In both examples, the waist is 32" and the inseam is 30".
