here it is... The Crown Jewel. 57cm steel road bike frame and fork. Hand built by Independent Fabrications. This is an older frame. The previous owner indicated to me that it is a 1997 though I have not researched the serial # 560C756
It's nothing short of exquisite in terms of craftsmanship and ride quality. The finish is a custom powder coat. Black (officially Metallic blue/black). It's Black, but with a faint shimmer of blue metallic flake when reflected upon). The farm also has a handmade "Tree of Life" head badge. I do not know the name of the maker of the head badge but she is based somewhere in Colorado and it is a nice looking, unique badge. The Cane Creek 110 headset is included, as is the Thomson seat clamp.
I.F. hand made this frame in Somerville Mass. of the finest ingredients and craftsmanship. This particular bike has been built with Reynolds 853 steel, to the best of my knowledge, but I’ve also heard that I.F. mixed and matched tube sets to make these. Using one type for stays, others for main tubes and different areas of the frame.
This was my personal bike for a few years. The ride is nothing short of the best. It was insanely light for a steel bike when it was built up. I’m selling because it doesn’t fit me quite right. It’s more on the 57cm side, and I ride more on the 55 side with a longer head tube.
It is in excellent condition. The finish is plain but it looks great and has no nicks or flaws. I am very careful with my bikes.
