For sale is an ultra rare, insanely amazing playing Phil Barone 1999 hand made Contemporary Traditional #8 Tenor saxophone mouthpiece!

This mouthpiece was made in NYC with pride by hand getting close to 20 years ago!  Most of you reading this are already huge fans of Phil Barones work.

Phil Barone is one of the best mouthpiece creators and refaces ever to live in the entire world.  Every Phil Barone piece is just crafted with the most attention to detail.  Phil obsesses over perfect facings and insuring the mouthpiece is achieving exactly what he set out to do.

Barone mouthpieces have become somewhat of a delicacy now the Phil has slowed down so much.  The oldest Barone’s are really just INSANE and seem to be very in demand right now.

If you follow these mouthpieces they really rarley pop up.  You can find them from 2005 2006 2007 2008, but not 1999!!

This mouthpiece is LOUD, VOICESTOROUS, powerful, flexible.  Phils mouthpiece all have sorta this silky smooth tone that I also feel on Guardala mouthpieces except Phil’s really allow you to be flexible and shape the tone without a high baffle.

I could go on and on about this mouthpiece.  Im not happy to let it go, but its time.  Whoever wins this will be very lucky!

From Phil Barone’s website

"With a medium-low baffle and a small tone chamber, the Traditional/Contemporary mouthpiece produces a centered, bright, unstuffy sound and when pushed becomes increasingly brighter. Even throughout the registers and easy to control, this mouthpiece is versatile enough for acoustic jazz, funk, or R & B.”

Review from  Ryan Knight

"I've had my Barone TC tenor mouthpiece for almost 6 months now and I'm absolutely in love with this thing.

The piece really projects well and doesn't thin out at all...It's got a FULL husky tone that is very flexible...The piece has very little resistance but it's not a high baffle piece...It looks kind of like a Berg Larsen-type baffle but plays like an awesome early babbitt Link STM/vintage Berg combination if you can imagine that...

Piece works with just about any reed I put on it...super reed friendly...

The piece is neither too short nor too long so it fits modern horns AND vintage horns intonation-wise...This piece is super easy to play in-tune with...makes my life easy...

Piece subtones very well and altissimo screams out easily...

I'm not sure about the new price on these and I'm not sure Phil is even making them anymore but I hope so because I think people would love these...I know Phil likes his HOLLYWOOD model better--I've yet to play that model--So for now, I'm hooked on this thing...

I recorded a couple videos with this thing to demonstrate a little of what it can do..I'll post the link a little later once I upload it...

Once again, Thanks for the amazing mouthpiece Phil!"
