This banjo belonged to my late father. It is an excellent Gibson Mastertone copy (American builder unknown) made in the early 1970's. Some parts I believe are genuine Gibson, in particularly the 20 hole flathead tonering. The sound is amazing!!! The banjo turned plenty of heads at my fathers local meet up. It's as close as you're going to get to a Scruggs pre-war mastertone vintage sound from a copy.

The rim is thick, the flange is 2 piece and the hardware is gold plated. The neck is a 3 piece maple lamination, the resonator is flame maple. The construction is solid and heavy. Comes in its original hardshell case.

It is an extremely well made older banjo with lots of authentic mojo. Best suited for someone looking for that pre-war mastertone sound without paying a large sum of money!

I would prefer pickup, but would consider posting with the appropriate insurance.
