A wonderful pristine example of a Scottish Mauchline Tartanware Clark & Co. spool or thread box. The box is decorated with a more scarce Tartan, seem from the original little gold on black label "Louise". Also present is a rarely found English design registration diamond, allowing us to date it to 23rd October 1858. The interior is also in fantastic condition and the underside retains it's original paper covering. A great example, in excellent condition; a good size, measuring 7 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 2".
