 You are looking at a very nice Astatic 77 microphone from the 1950's complete with period Atlas stand. This was a high quality Dynamic microphone offered by Astatic and was their competition to the Shure Brothers 55 S at the time. This unit has been tested and sadly does not work any more. This should be used for prop or display purposes only until a replacement element is used. As you can see there are few signs of wear...mostly small pitting and fine scratches. No dents or engravings. The black silk screen is 100% complete in the front and rear. Two small rips in the rear right upper side that are very hard to notice.

 This Astatic 77 is a solid 8 + out of a scale of 1 - 10 in the cosmetic side. The 77 has an elegant, timeless look that set these vintage mics apart from the others in the 1950's though several Japanese manufacturers made microphones that looked almost identical. The 77 had superior styling and sound over the competition.

 Also included is a 50's era Atlas 763 desk stand with cast iron base and chrome riser. As you can see the stand shows typical wear and there was modifications done to it as their was a toggle switch added and a couple holes drilled into the base. Not sure if the switch still works but it will compliment the 77A nicely. Base still has the 3 original rubber pads and they are in very good shape.

 Total height of mic with stand is 12 inches tall X 6 inches wide.

 This would make an excellent display piece anywhere in the home, office or studio.
