This is one of our large heat exchangers, designed for vegetable oil conversions but they are perfect oil coolers where a system is required that uses the engines coolant (eg such as in a rear or mid engine vehicle conversion)

It provides a very good thermal transfer in a relatively small space. It has a good practical layout with a base plate for mounting and the hose fittings on top. The M14 thread for oil connections makes it very easy to aquire banjo type fittings to ensure a leak free seal. Water connections are for 16mm internal diameter hose. They are factory built to very high specification for automotive applications. TUV certified. Class ‘A’ rating for materials compliance with engine coolant and all types of engine oil. Max oil and coolant pressure 50bar (725 psi). These things are the real deal, successfully running in thousands of vehicles and used by professionals.

Why use this oil cooler?
This is our high performance heat exchanger. It has an array of baffles between each plate ensuring that the surface area in contact with the fluids is HUGE and the baffles induce turbulence to ensure the heat trasfers throughout the fluids rather than just at the surfaces in contact. There are 14 alternate layers - 7 for oil and 7 for coolant and within each layer there are hundreds of gaps ensuring that there is negligible restriction to the oil or coolant flow and the heat transfer is massive. This performs better than stainless steel heat exchangers since it is constructed of aluminium which has approximately 10 times the thermal conductivity of stainless steel.
